What was your first Manchester City shirt?

My first Man City shirt is quite an ambiguous question; my answer depends on what ‘first’ entails. If you mean my first shirt in real time, it would be City’s home shirt from 2011 which I bought (probably fake) from Turkey, followed by City’s 2010/11 away shirt and then City’s away shirt from 2013/14, which was the first shirt that I got a name printed on. Come on, Jesus Navas wasn’t a bad choice at the time!

In terms of the ‘first’ meaning oldest shirt, then my dad gave me a lot of ‘retro’ looking shirts, although they were probably only about 10 years old. I also got a Kinkladze shirt from Campo Retro.

What is your favourite Manchester City shirt?

My favourite Man City shirt has got to be the away shirt from 2014/15. It got mixed reviews, and some people didn’t really like it, but I loved the fading design and the return of the golden lettering. It’s a shame that I never bought one really.

What is your favourite goal?

Is favourite goal even a genuine question? Of course it has to be Balotelli’s ‘shoulder goal’ against Norwich… In all seriousness, does 93:20 ring any bells? The significance and emotion of that goal were incredible.

(We can’t keep showing the Aguerooooooo goal every time!)

Who is your favourite player?

My favourite player is a really tough question. If you follow me on Twitter (@TheSilvaLining)… you don’t even have to follow me. He’s in my name. I love that little Spaniard, he’s been dubbed a magician, our ‘Merlin’. He’s golden, if you pardon the pun.

Then there are obviously current players like Agüero, Yaya Toure and Kompany who have done so much for the club and are very talented. Then there’s also you’re ‘old school’ players like Kinkladze and Bell…

Maine Road or the Etihad?

I was never able to experience Maine Road, sadly. But I’ve heard great things about the place. I think that with the new owners, the new infrastructure and the new era at City, a new stadium can’t be appreciated enough. With the expansion firmly underway to increase the capacity and the City Football Academy close by, things can only move onwards and upwards for City at the Etihad.
