So I thought I’d try something a little different and put together some news from the Blues. This will cover the 1st team, youth team and best of social media.

Catch up with all things Man City every Monday on ManCityGifts.com. This week there’s news from the Norwich City game at the Etihad, City’s under 18’s game at Liverpool, a return of an old favourite on social media and how to get to see one of Gary James’ badge lectures. Also watch the U19’s Champs League game live.

So in a weekend where we beat Norwich and where we build up to the Champions League away game with Seville here’s the Man City Monday roundup, perfect for those of you sat in airport lounges on the way to Spain (lucky swines!).

1st Team: Man City 2 Norwich 1

A hard fought win on Saturday at the Eithad is covered superbly in Howard Hockin’s blog StandingAlone.co.uk with the piece titled “What Just Happened Then?“.

I have to admit that I really like the way Howard does his match reports . He’s probably the reason I don’t do match reports on ManCityGifts.com, as Howard generally writes my exact thoughts only in a much better way than I could!

Over on ReadManCity.com editor @KieranBell7 pickd out 3 things from the game including a suggestion that Pelligrini picked the wrong team at the start. I’m not fully convinced by this, with the team playing so well against Palace a few days before, but I can see Kieran’s point

Youth Team

Best new blogger finalist in the Football Blogging Awards InEsteemedKompany spent Saturday in Liverpool watching a youthful City under 18’s draw against Liverpool 1-1. The City team had many of their normal 1st team missing (due to the Under 19’s Champions League match on Tuesday) and fielded a 15 year old!

16 year old Spanish Wonder Kid Brahim Diaz made his debut for the Under 18’s, much to InEsteemedKompany’s delight. Read his match report here.

On the subject of the Under 19’s match on Tuesday one of my go to places to keep up to date with the City youth team, @MCFC_EDS_ACAD has found that the game is live on youtube at 1pm tomorrow.

On the downside, those of you out in Seville are unlikely to be able to watch it in the flesh as Seville are hosting the game some 40km away – remember UEFA respect the fans campaign?

Social Media/Blogs

Some great news for City fans on Twitter over the weekend – @City_Watch is coming back!

Many fans on twitter were distraught when City_Watch went on hiatus back in September. However the twitter account is making a comeback with a new logo, it’s own website and a podcast. There is no date for the website or regular tweets but the 1st podcast is up and running debating Yaya Toure’s future amongst other things.

Badge Consultation

Before the Palace game I went to the Gary James Badge Consultation Lecture. I’d encourage any of you to go, there are two more with places available. Even if you are not fussed about the badge being changed Gary’s lecture is really interesting if you’re a Blue.

David Mooney caught up with Gary on the BlueMoonPodcast and wrote an excellent piece on TypicalCity.org. David manages to start a piece on the history of Manchester City’s badge with an image of George Lucas and C3P0 from Star Wars. It’s well worth a read and tells you how you can get to see one of Gary’s lectures. Available to read here: A Badge of Honour.
